Pressure holter, 24 hours: involves indirectly measuring pressure in large arteries. Usually the pressure is measured in the brachial artery. When measuring blood pressure, systolic and diastolic pressure are distinguished. According to the guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology, values above 140 mmHg for systolic pressure and 90 mmHg for diastolic pressure allow to recognize hypertension .

We distinguish hypertension that applies only to systolic, diastolic or both. Based on these results, a specialist cardiologist can apply appropriate pharmacological treatment and recommend a change in lifestyle and diet to stabilize blood pressure. 120/80 mmHg is considered “optimal” blood pressure. In the event of markedly elevated blood pressure, heart attack, stroke or other life-threatening complications may occur. Regular monitoring of blood pressure at home is recommended, and a pressure holter test performed at intervals of several months. The test result is prepared by a cardiologist technician, who receives a full description and statistics of irregularities in measurements.
